DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) is a global rating system designed to give every pickleball player a single, accurate, and portable skill rating regardless of where or with whom they play.
Every player is assigned a numerical rating between 2.000 and 8.000. The algorithm calculates your rating based on the scores of your matches — not just wins and losses, but the actual point differential in every game. Beating a strong opponent by a large margin moves your rating more than narrowly beating a weaker one. The system updates continuously as new results are submitted.
Before systems like DUPR, self-reported skill levels (2.5, 3.0, 3.5, etc.) were inconsistent and unverifiable — a 3.5 in one city might be a 4.0 somewhere else. DUPR creates a common language across recreational leagues, tournaments, and clubs worldwide. It is now the most widely used rating system in the sport and is the official rating partner of professional pickleball competitions.
A player needs a minimum number of recorded games against rated opponents before DUPR assigns an initial rating. That is precisely what a calibration event like the one COLGAMLP is planning is designed to produce — enough games against enough different opponents in a single session to give the algorithm what it needs to generate a meaningful number.
The league currently uses DUPR ratings to place players into the correct division at registration: Intermediate (3.0–3.6), Advanced (3.7–4.2), and Elite (4.3+). The more players in the league who have verified DUPR ratings, the more accurate and fair the division placement becomes each season.

Registration is now open for the COLGAMLP DUPR Calibration Event on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at the Phenix City Courts (8:00 AM EST).
Space is limited to 24 players and spots are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
All participants must have an active DUPR profile. Create a profile prior to registration for free at www.dupr.com.
